Hi! My name is Fern and this website is where I sell products that I make with my own two hands.
I have been creating jewellery for around 10 years, and have sold in an online shop called The Wellington Boot for most of that time. In more recent years, I have started designing and selling funny greetings cards as "The Card Connoisseur", discovered the craft of bookbinding, bought a loom, learned quilling, taught myself to sew and knit...and a

I accept payments via Paypal, which is a secure and widely used online payment service.
Paypal accept all major credit and debit cards, and you can easily pay by using guest checkout if you don't have a Paypal account.
Just be sure to check that the delivery address you enter on Paypal is correct, as any orders lost due to an incorrectly entered address cannot be refunded.
How long will it take for my order to be posted?

Where will my order be posted from?
The order will be posted from Northwest England.
Which countries do you post to?
I can post to the U.K., the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe.
Which mail delivery service(s) do you use?

few more things besides. Basically, I like making things.
I tried to turn this into a career by doing dental technology at university (making dentures and crowns), but without the creative element it just wasn't for me.
So I set out on my own and now design and sell a range of products. It's all just online for now but I hope that I'll sell in real life shops someday soon!
Fern Makes will basically be home to any of my many, many ideas that become reality.
Thanks for visiting :)
Do I get the original delivery charge refunded if I return my order?
If you let me know within 14 days of receiving your order that you would like to cancel and return the whole order back to me, then I will refund the entire order including the original delivery charge...as long as the conditions of returns are met (see the 'How do I return my order?' question above). If I'm not notified within 14 days that you would like to return your order, I'm afraid the original delivery charge will not be refunded.
How much is delivery?
Within the UK, the delivery cost is a flat rate of £2.00 for mini books, no matter how many you buy.
If you live outside of the UK, the postage cost will be calculated at checkout, but is likely to a maximum of £4.50.
Can I cancel my order?
Please e-mail me as soon as you can after your purchase if you would like to cancel it, and I will refund your payment. However, if I have posted your order already then I can no longer cancel.
If you want to return the order after receiving it, then you may do so as long as you contact me within 14 days of delivery. The return postage cost must be covered by you, however, unless the order is faulty or otherwise not as described.
How do you use my personal information?
Your personal information is only used to complete your order or answer any request you may have, and it is secure.
If you sign up to receive my e-mail newsletter, I will only use your e-mail address and your name for the purposes of sending a newsletter to you. I will never spam, and there will not be more than one newsletter sent out each month. The option to unsubscribe at any time is available in every e-mail.
How will my order be packaged?
Each mini book is packaged in a small black pillow box with tissue paper padding inside, and this box is sent in a small plastic mailing bag. If you choose to buy a gift box as an add-on, you will receive a durable black gift box instead, which has a press stud closure.
How eco-friendly are you?
I try to be as eco-friendly as I can be, and currently I use recycled paper in all my books, and the pillow box packaging is recycled too. I do use plastic mailing bags, but I am looking into an alternative at the moment.
Do you take wholesale orders?
Not currently, although if you are interested in placing a large order please let me know!

How do I return my order?
Please let me know within 14 days of receiving your order that you would like to make a return. Please message me via the 'Contact' page, stating what you would like to return and why, along with your full name and/or your order number. I will then work to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
If you do need to return your order, I will let you know how to go about this. The conditions of returns are as follows: a) the item(s) must be sent back within 30 days of you receiving the order, and b) the products must be packed securely (preferably in their original packaging), and in their original condition/form. Returns that don’t meet these requirements will most likely be rejected. Also, if possible, please send the

Who pays for the posting of returns?
The buyer must pay any return postage costs themselves, unless the reason for the return is due to a mistake I have made, or is due to a fault with the item(s). But this will be agreed via communications prior to the return being sent, so please always get in touch with me first.
